[framework] Is 2.7 Version be reviewed with New Exploits??

We still accept third-party exploits for 2.7, but active development of 
the 2.x tree stopped a couple months ago. The 3.0 release is 
still "imminent", just trying to knock out a few more things before we 
call it done.
