[framework] ruby lorcon stopped working with madwifi

I have a ruby based app which used to work fine with the ruby lorcon
wrappers but I just did an upgrade to msf 3.1, madwifi 0.9.4 and the
latest lorcon from svn and now I get the following error:

file.rb:1:in `write': Lorcon could not transmit packet:  (RuntimeError)

I tried the test.rb that comes with the wrapper and initially had to
remove the last parameter (,1) from line 29  but then got the same
error.

I'm guessing that this means that there has been some interface change
in either lorcon or madwifi that msf hasn't caught up on yet. Does
anyone have a patch/fix?

The script works fine with an rtl8187 card, it is just madwifi where it fails.
